A cow moose pauses to drink from the cool waters of the Snake River in Grand Teton National Park. The largest member of the deer family, moose can be found throughout the park in areas where water is plentiful. The channels of the Snake River offer excellent year round habitat for the moose. They feed mainly on aquatic vegetation in the summer and the twigs, buds, and bark of willow along the banks of the river in winter.
