Common Raven, Corvus coral, 22"-27" long, 46" wingspan. Common Ravens are the largest member of the crow family, and unlike crows, tend to be seen alone or in pairs except when roosting or feeding. Their large bill and shaggy feathers also distinguish them from crows. Most of their diet is meat which they scavenge from carrion and garbage. Ravens also raid bird nests for eggs nestlings and will eat rodents. Their intelligence and adaptability allow them to exploit many natural and human-related habitats. Ravens are non-migratory but will travel miles to feed or roost. They mature at 3 and form long-term monogamous bonds which they maintain year-round.
