Family Reunion

A Red Fox vixen is greeted wildly by her gang of 4 kits upon returning from a hunting foray.  Red Fox often mate for life and can have 1 to 12 kits in a litter.  Kits can be a rambunctious lot and have a great time stalking, chasing and tackling each other during play.  This will help develop their hunting skills as they grow older.  Blessed with excellent senses of hearing, smell and eyesight, foxes are diurnal hunters, meaning they hunt during both daytime and night.  Their hearing is supersonic, allowing them to locate rodents that are underground or beneath deep snow.  Foxes are extremely clever, cunning and athletic, which makes them excellent and resourceful hunters.  They are omnivorous in their diet, feeding on both berries and other fruits as well as mice, ground squirrels, rabbits, carrion, birds, frogs and even earthworms.
